Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center focuses the resources of public and private agencies in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to achieve the best comprehensive outcome for sexually abused children.

About Pat’s Place:
Pat’s Place is the only agency in Mecklenburg County that provides video recorded forensic interviews, medical exams, family advocacy and multidisciplinary team coordination in one centralized location for children who are involved in sexual abuse investigations. Before Pat’s Place, children were interviewed multiple times, in multiple locations, by multiple individuals. Children told their story as many as twelve times, which left them traumatized by the child abuse system that was designed to help them.
Pat’s Place was built on the belief that no single child abuse professional or agency can solve the problem of child abuse alone. Child Advocacy Centers are community based, and Pat’s Place could not be possible without the commitment and support of many community partners.
