Beads for Needs Chooses Seigle Avenue Partners Event to be held February 27, 2003

CHARLOTTE, N.C., January 6, 2003 - Beads for Needs, a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for underprivileged children in the Charlotte area, has chosen Seigle Avenue Partners as its 2003 event beneficiary.

The Beads for Needs fundraising event will be held February 27, 2003, from 6-11 p.m. at the Wachovia Atrium, 301 S. Tryon Street. The Mardi Gras-themed event will feature food from area restaurants, beverages, music from the Voltage Brothers, and of course, beads for all attendees. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Seigle Avenue Partners, an organization that provides out-of-school time programs for children in kindergarten through middle school who live in the Belmont /Piedmont Courts community.

"We are delighted to have Seigle Avenue Partners as the 2003 Beads for Needs beneficiary," said Chris Helsabeck, Beads For Needs president. "The purpose of Beads for Needs is to help underprivileged children and Seigle Avenue Partners' programs and impact on our community made it an ideal choice."


 

About SEIGLE AVENUE PARTNERS
Seigle Avenue Partners is the latest chapter in a 50-year history of commitment, caring and outreach by Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church to its neighbors in the Belmont and Piedmont Courts community. The organization offers a comprehensive Out of School Time (OST) program for neighborhood children who range in age from kindergarten through eighth grade. The program is housed in the Hope Building, on the corner of 10th Street and Seigle Avenue.

Beads for Needs is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the intellectual, social and psychological development of underprivileged children in the Charlotte community. The organization raises funds and awareness for local nonprofits through a yearly Mardi Gras themed event for young professionals. The 2002 event raised more than $20,000 for the Children's Law Center.
