Celebrate Mardi Gras - And Feel Good the Next Day
2007 Beads for Needs Event - Presented by Myers Park Mortgage - to Benefit Alexander Youth Network

CHARLOTTE, N.C., September 1, 2007

Who: Beads for Needs is a nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for underprivileged children in the Charlotte area. Each year, Beads for Needs presents Charlotte’s premier Mardi Gras-themed fundraiser – an event by young professionals for young professionals. The 2008 event will benefit Alexander Youth Network. Alexander Youth Network treats children who are severely emotionally disturbed by offering a full continuum of services that work together from start to finish. Alexander believes that children are best served by combining multiple programs operating under one system of care. As children move through the system, there is less disruption, more steady progress, and a greater likelihood of positive outcomes. Alexander operates its own programs and forms collaborative efforts with other agencies to develop services that complement its vision of providing a complete array of healthcare services. For more information on Alexander Youth Network, visit www.alexanderyouthnetwork.org.

What: For the seventh consecutive year, more than 1,500 young professionals will converge on the Wachovia Atrium for a Mardi Gras celebration that includes a re-creation of Bourbon Street, food from area restaurants, live music, and THOUSANDS of beads, boas and masks. Food will be provided by local restaurants including Jolinas Mexican Grill, Fuel Pizza and Angry Ale’s. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For ticket information and to purchase tickets, visit www.beadsforneeds.org.
